Group Travel certainly has its advantages. Now, before you determine that group travel is not for you, take a look at 5 advantages we’ve found for traveling with a group. You may find out that this type of travel is definitely a good fit for you. Here are the reasons we think that Group Travel is a great way to travel.
1. Safer and easier
It has been said that there is safety in numbers, and we agree. Traveling in foreign countries can sometimes seem a little challenging, especially for first timers. Our vendors use carefully selected guides and support staff to guide our groups, and traveling with a group minimizes your risk of being a target for criminals. Another plus is that members of the group form bonds and help out if someone is injured or becomes ill. With a preset itinerary with the lodging, tours, transportation, and most meals in place, you can relax and enjoy the trip.
2. Cost effective with group discounts
Traveling with a group can sometimes save you money because of the vendors’ abilities to negotiate lower bulk rates. Group travel does not mean “cheap travel,” but finding the right group trip can help you get the most value for your money. Many times bundling everything into a package can save you money — hotel, airfare, tours, transfers, etc.
3. See things you wouldn’t usually see
Groups are sometimes given access to areas not always open to the public. Your group may be able to have early entrance or late entrance to some of the more crowded areas, such as an early morning viewing of the Sistine Chapel.
4. Meet new friends
One of my favorite benefits of traveling with a group is the opportunity to make new friends. Like minded travelers gravitate toward each other and end up spending time together on tours and during free time. Many travelers stay in contact with their new friends after the trip is over and even plan to take future trips together. Have you had the good fortune of making new friends through travel?
5. Someone to lead the way
Local tour guides can “lead” you to the best experiences and food on the planet! These guides are familiar with the driving routes, customs of the country, locations for the best food, basically taking the guess work out for you. Having someone to take care of all the details for you so that you can be present and enjoy the journey — priceless!
